Fend off the Infection - Page 3 Empty Re: Fend off the Infection

Post  Talas Sat Apr 20, 2013 10:12 pm

Although the horde became more deadly than ever, Talas had paused after his last kill to ponder what had just been said to him. Confusion struck his face from the shock of his words. Talas had lived with a nomadic tribe of religious drow in the north and the Gods had been good to him all his life. He treasures and clings to his religion as a profound truth in the world.

He had, however, no time to respond to Nalrak's claim. When the roar bellowed out from the town, his instincts sprung back up. Talas charged his sword with electrical energy and gave a mental prayer to Gale-Munnach. Thanking him for the powers he had and asking for his blessing in the battle.

"Orior dosstan!" (Prepare yourself!)

Dane gave to care to the roars of the unforeseen beast, his attention was utterly fixed on the task at hand. As the infected continued to grow in endurance, Dane increased his own speed and power. He was still disoriented by something, as his swings became less accurate, although they still managed to reach their targets.

One of the larger infected swung their bone blade at Dane madly, not really capable of aiming anymore it just swung his blade fast and hard toward him, dane would more than likely not be killed by this blow, whether or not it hit because the aim was so off.

Dane was unable to dodge the bone blade and was struck in the side. He turned at full force toward the infected and several flesh from its bones with several slashes of his blades. His intensity was not affected by the wound he had received, almost as if he had not felt it at all.

The infected that had attacked dane was torn apart by his quick and powerful slashes, it went down as the last blow made contact, though during its death it slashed to more times using it's last bit of energy to try and do whatever damage it could. The mysterious roar happened again and they could feel the ground tremble as something large walked through the city, toward them. It was large, and was the local infection core's guardian.

Talas's sharp eyes caught the movement of a seemingly large creature tromping throughout the village towards them. Methinks this foe is truly dangerous. I fear that we shall be overcome if the horde is not soon overtaken.

Talas continues to slash with fury at the infected in front of him. His sword, now charged with lightning, can cut the infected much more easily. The curved Drow longsword sparks and flashes with static electricity every time it lands its mark. Talas, now acting boldly, attempts to cut a nearby infected directly down the middle. "Plynn l'xonathull (Take the battle!)," Talas cries instinctively. He realizes his mistake and shouts in common to those who can hear him.

"We must take those in front of our eyes with all haste! I pray thee fight fiercely, for our next enemy is no easy kill!"

A few of the infected fell around the group quickly as Halt materialized from the shadows around them "Sorry for my tardiness Ladies and Gentlemen, a certain soul in my blade needed to be pacified. I see the situation is far from handled then?" He shot a dark look at Talas "Makes sense of course, having a dirty drow pet so close by must be bad luck."

As Halt arrived and killed off a few infected, the roars became louder than they ever had been and a huge red mass of flesh leveled a house in its path. A huge monstrosity, easily 10 feet tall and 30 feet long from head to tail, this monster was made of all the animals and livestock, everything in this town that wasn't a human or some other sentient race was mashed into this massive creature, forming the Infected Guardian.

It's eyes were massive collection of all eyes of the poor animals used to create it, they all moved in different direction until it seemed to notice the heroes threatening its infection. All the eyes stopped moving and moved as one, focusing on them and them alone. Of course the group of eyes wasn't just looking in their direction, groups of eyes were looking at each one, as if sizing them up. It stepped forward slowly, as if trying to scare them away like a territorial beast protecting it's turf.

It's legs made strange and terrible cracking and popping noises every time is moved and stepped, it's legs were made of the legs and entrails of all the animals it took. It's legs looked unfinished though, as did the rest of it's body, it was oozing infected liquid from some small openings in the flesh, though it looked weakened by this attack on the still premature infection site, it still looked imposing and terrible.

It opened it's mouth snarling with blood curdled amalgamation of vocal cords and tongues, its mouth a mash of various kinds of teeth, in no particular order, simply put anywhere there was room for them. This fight was going to be a difficult one, its feet, if you could call them that, were made of the various claws and hooves and shattered foot bones of all the animals, forming sharpened claw like jagged spikes, its tail was made of the broken spines and rib cages of the various animals that make up this monster.

This creature was huge, terrifying, and unlike anything any of these people would have ever seen. This was simply a beginning stage of infection, a infantile unfinished abomination, and the only thing it wanted....was their blood.

Tyurnis stopped shooting and nearly dropped his arrow, he said after regaining his composure "Well, that is quite new...it may have been a grave mistake to come when we are so few" He enchanted his arrows with fire again and aimed three at the creature "If this is to be my end, it will be for all the lives i defend"

Lorelei stares at the lumbering abomination with her eyes wide open, her mouth agape, and her body frozen with terror. She can't move, like a deer caught in the headlights.

Post  Talas Sat May 11, 2013 12:36 pm

Talas stumbled and gazed at the horrid abomination. He nearly panicked, but his sound mind told him that fear was his enemy now. Talas was no stranger to large creatures. He has lived with and built many golems of similar size. But it was not the size that unnerved him so much. It was the hideous dis-figuration of nature of twisted flesh and bones that sent chills through his spine. Especially those eyes. They whipped about in several directions in a hive-like manner. Those bulging animal eyes that stared right at him terrified him more than anything else.

Talas took that fear and turned it to power. He summoned his strength and shot out a huge bolt of lightning at the eyes focused on him. Before the attack even hit, he ran straight through the remainder of the horde with his charged sword. Talas jumped as high as he could and went straight for the thighs of the beast.

"Phraktos balbau uns'aa elakar yorn! Whol ol zhah wun elakar kaas nindel jal z'ress Snu'reion." (Gods grant me thy power! For it is in thy name that all strength flows.)
